Ulyana Sergeenko Couture Week

Russian designer Ulyana Sergeenko showcased some 50s inspired pieces, for couture spring 2014. Ulyana's collection was every bit femme fatale, with some old fashioned hollywood glam. I see a cross between Galliano and Jean Paul Gaultier for inspiration for these designs. And I must admit I prefer old glam to modern 'trainers'.

Chanel Couture : All About Trainers

It was all about trainers for Chanel couture spring summer 2014 collection. Karl Lagerfeld took a different approach to the whole glam 'extravagant' gowns and opted for some simple tweed suits and trainers. Just like Raf Simons for Dior, Lagerfeld went for a fresh younger look for couture. With lots of gorgeous pastel colours, the cropped jackets and high-waisted skirts look effortless. Karl also focused around the waistline, showing off some tiny petite frames.

Couture For Dior : Spring Summer 2014

Who would've thought Raf Simons would conquer Dior and take it to a new modern look for couture, I guess it's time to let go of John Galliano.
Back to Simons, for most of the collection we see soft ruffles, romantic sheer and bustier swingy cocktail dresses. The designs were young and free, I can picture a lot these dresses on Jennifer Lawrence.

Paris Couture Week: Atelier Versace

Paris Spring Summer 2014 Couture week, begins with Atelier Versace. Donatella Versace was clearly inspired by actress/model Grace Jones for the couture collection. The designs were based around the actress iconic hoods and sexy cleavage. There was, off course some goddess glam with bodycon silhouettes, essential to the brands DNA.
