Dior Couture FW2014

Raf Simons has really done it this time, what a beautiful executed collection for Dior couture FW14. Simon was inspired by many centuries, at first we saw inspiration from Maria Antoinette, the models showcased some breathtaking gowns, with exaggerated hemline. We then moved onto the (Edwardian) era with long-line coats and fine tailored pants.
With a touch of the 20s from the flappish beaded dresses to the groovy 60s with the micro mini skirts. We make our way to the future with sci-fi's broad shouldered dresses to finally back to the present of lighter flawy colourful pieces. Simons took us through a fashionable history class, leaving us in awe.

Couture In Paris

Atelier Versace kicks off Paris Haute Couture for FW14. Donatella Versace, inspired by midnight colours for this collection, showcased a mix of fun sexy clothes and some body alluring leather pieces with heavy tassel's. However the designs leaned more to the sophisticated side. Influenced by the 50s era we saw crystals, beads and lets not forget the draping hourglass evening dress, which will definitely be seen award season.

Oh how I've missed couture week...

Chanel Couture : All About Trainers

It was all about trainers for Chanel couture spring summer 2014 collection. Karl Lagerfeld took a different approach to the whole glam 'extravagant' gowns and opted for some simple tweed suits and trainers. Just like Raf Simons for Dior, Lagerfeld went for a fresh younger look for couture. With lots of gorgeous pastel colours, the cropped jackets and high-waisted skirts look effortless. Karl also focused around the waistline, showing off some tiny petite frames.
