Farewell Oscar de la Renta

It's a sad day for the world of fashion, for the iconic designer Oscar de la Renta has passed away at the age of 82. The Dominican Republic, fashion designer has spent half of a century putting high society in haute couture. Dressing the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah and most recently Amal Alamuddin-Clooney wedding gown to George Clooney.
Oscar developed a reputation for his signature evening wear in the 50s, he discovered fashion under Cristobel Balenciaga, he went on to design at Lanvin, Elizabeth Arden couture, before debuting in Paris couture with Pierre Balmain back in 1993.
Oscar de la Renta was diagnosed with cancer, but had been clear for the past year, he leaves behind his second wife, Annette Engelhard Reed and adopted son Moises, who works at the fashion house. A former president of the CFDA and internationally acclaimed designer, his legacy will live on especially through red carpets.

Met Gala's 2014 Best Gowns

After last years 'Punk' inspired Met Gala event, this year we see a more elegant and classic red carpet. How does Anna Wintour pick the guest list, because this year she was spot on. The A-listers looked heavenly in their gowns and really put an effort to their outfits. If only Ms Wintour could take care of the Oscars, we'd be more impressed with the dresses.

Here's a look into some of my favourite looks...
